Eastern Shore Marksmen 3X
Canadian Champions
by
Marie Martin - WWII Veteran
We salute the marksmanship team of #2610 Royal
Canadian Army Cadet Corps who have been Nova
Scotia champions for 10 years and Canadian champions for 3 years.
To put this record in perspective, there are 90 corps (3,000 cadets)
in N.S. and 1100 corps (55,000 cadets) in Canada. For 2 years
running, a former cadet from #2610 - Sarah Bezanson from New Chester
was 'top shot' in Canada.
This year (2002), MWO Jennifer Churchill from Port Dufferin was
top shot in N.S. and the runner-up was Sgt. Kristen Webb from
Harrigan Cove.
As the team heads out to Comox, B.C. for the national cadet marksmanship
competition - 4 to 11 May - our good wishes go with them and their
leader Gary Scrivens.
We're "shore" proud of them !
This Cadet Corps is sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion
