Halifax has a lively, growing underground that often attracts international
parties and electronic music festivals. Here's an evolving list of DJ
sites, rave music including house, hip hop and trance, and more in Canada's
fastest growing underground music scene.
DJ Jay Hamilton
Jay Hamilton is credited with being Halifax's best trance DJ. That may
be because he introduced the pumping sounds of trance to a 'house-heavy'
Metro only in the last few years. Jay has just released his latest CD
"Ignite".
DJ Olympics
The DJ Olympics has become an annual Halifax event for up and coming DJs
and has given many local spin masters their start in the rave music industry.
Massive Productions
A slow loading site that has been scheduled for an upgrade, Tony Hage's
Massive Productions is probably Halifax's best known rave promotion group.
Rave Halifax
Rave Halifax is perhaps the best maintained site on the scene with an
events calendar and a busy message board.
Sweetdrop Entertainment
Sweetdrop is home to one of Halifax's best known DJs, Jay Hamilton. Also
with Danny Newton, Reyes and other local DJs. Check Jay's booking schedule
or visit the guestbook and add your name to his growing list of fans.
Rumour has it a new, updated website is forthcoming. Sweetdrop's site
has moved to http://jay-hamilton.com/
Reflections Cabaret
Reflections Cabaret is one of the best known clubs for checking out the
electronic dance music scene and Halifax's best known DJ's. Known for
'acceptance of everyone'. Heavy "Flash" warning but you can pick up the
the plugin there.
